One of three slick cherry-red "Ferarris" featured in the 1986 movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" was sold at auction this weekend.n

nThe Modena GT Spyder California - not actually a Ferrari, as Cam says in the movie -- was estimated to go for $375,000. But it ended up fetching $407,000.

nIn the classic 80s John Hughes film, Cameron Frye tells Ferris that the "1961 Ferrari 250 GT California" was his father's love, his passion, and his dad spent three years restoring it.n

nBut that doesn't stop the shenanigans.

nThey take the car out, with the hare-brained idea to "take the miles off" by putting the car in reverse. Spoiler alert -- it doesn't work. And in fact, everything gets a lot worse from there, with the car being destroyed.

nThankfully, the car sold at auction was not the one that went through a plate glass window. In fact, it looks to be in pristine condition.

nThe car, built by Modena Design and Development in El Cajon, California, comes with all the documentation certifying its authenticity by Mecum Auctions, and also comes with Ferris Bueller's "movie memorabilia" included.n

nTake a look at the gorgeous set of wheels below.
