The soaring-ceiling'd space still boasts the classical lines and hues of yore, as well as lighting fixtures that meld well with the overall look of Union Station itself.

Yes, there shall be fine brews, as the name of the eatery so strongly suggests. And if you know your Southern Pacific trains from the 1930s, you'll recognize the "Imperial Western" part of the restaurant's handle.

So your train isn't set to depart for another couple of hours? Find a corner and settle in for a plate of beer-battered fish tacos or buttermilk fried chicken.

AvroKO was the design-minded firm behind the historically handsome redo of the space. The vibe, per the restaurant itself? "The brewpub features bespoke furniture and lighting to tap into 1940’s train travel for inspiration, capturing the glamour of the era’s railways and dining cars, while in true beer hall fashion also boasts custom game tables, pool tables, and shuffleboard."

Of course, if you prefer beer, that's a central sip at the restaurant and bar. Devon Randall is the head brewer, and the in-house brews include Mexican lager, a session IPA, and an oyster stout.
