DOWNTOWN—Many predicted Peruvian to be the next big thing in cuisine this year, and it looks LA won't be immune. As seen on the Daily Dish, Mo Chica will open in early April in the Mercado La Paloma. It's going to be a modern Peruvian eatery by Ricardo Zarate (Zu Robata, Tetsuya in London) and Mario Orellana (Gjelina, Lot 1). [DD]

LOS ANGELES—As you may have heard, this Saturday at 8:30 is Earth Hour, which means plenty of restaurants will be participating by holding candelight dinners. The Digest has further details on special ways some restaurants are celebrating, and hey look, even Stefan supports the cause! [EaterWire]

WEST HOLLYWOODMore details are emerging in the weekend stabbing at Astro Burger, and it looks like the suspect is a regular: "Detective Chad Dowdy told WeHo News that the man they seek is a male Hispanic, roughly 5’ 7” to 5’ 9” weighing 150-160 lbs with dark hair and a left hand with tattoos on every finger. 'We know that the guy has been in the restaurant at least three times in the past week,' said Det. Dowdy." [WHN]

THE OC—Wasn't this on an episode of Seinfeld? Via Fast Food Maven: "Just when I thought the cupcake craze was slowing down, another Orange County shop specializing in the mini-treats — and muffin tops — is set to open today." Hopefully, this new shop doesn't just make the muffin tops. You've gotta make the whole muffin. Then you pop the top. [FFM]
